Default 94 opinions? Runs smoth quiet in park, in gear LOUD CLANKING repeating, wont drive

I just bought this Automatic 1994 Legend. It starts up nice and easy and is super quiet and runs like a champ while in PARK.

Soon as I put it in gear there is a Very loud clanking sound, the sound is in pace with the engine rotation. The car does not move in any gears.

The previous owner said they were going down the freeway and out of nowhere the loud noise just started happening and the car would no longer drive.

I am assuming its the transmission alone. but I honestly have never worked on a front wheel drive V6. All the V6/v8 i have worked on were rear wheel drive. I removed the wheels and CV Axles so far.

It sounds as tho the torque converter bolts sheared off. If not that it could very well be the front pump that the torque converter drives.
