...car is sold? If I buy a used one does the warranty transfer to me?

It all depends on the warranty company. Read the fine print.

if it is a private warranty company not original dealer warranty it might not you will have to look at the paper work also be careful some of these warranty companies are going out of business or are being bought out by other companies that are changing there rules

Just check it on warranty manual. All the terms and conditions are provided there on that.
