I have only put Premium in it up to this point and the prices are killing me!

Your car will still run only not as well, you might think it's acting just a bit sluggish.

I have a Grand Cherokee 5.9 it calls for premium only, but I also had a SVT Fort Focus that called for premium only.

If your car is under warranty, and premium is required per the owners manual, it may void your warranty. How you ask, if it is required by the manual and you have a problem related to it, they can call it "improper maintenance", just like if the wrong oil was put into it.


Most autos that require premium usually have a label inside the gas door. Look there as well, if you do not see a label stating "Premium Only" and its not in the book, then you shouldn't have a big problem with the switch, except for the loss of power.

Does your owners manual tell you to put premium in it?

If it does not say that then you are a complete tool and probably shouldn't be driving.

If it does say to use 91 or above octane ONLY then you have to bite the bullet.
