I just got my license and I'm in need of a car. I am debating on whether I should get a 2002-2004 Honda Civic LX/EX (auto) or a 2002-2003 Acura RSX base type (auto). Please help me make my decision and please consider the costs for maintanence, insurance and all that stuff. (remember, 17 year old new driver). Thanks in advance!

They are pretty much the exact car (literally) go for the honda probably get a better deal and pay less. Instead of paying for the Acura badge. But there are also variable like mileage, condition of the car, and you might get a better insurance rate with the Honda.

go with the acura rsx, its quicker then a stock 02-04 civic lx or ex. as far as reliability its a honda after all so need to worry bout tha and if somethin does ever go wrong with the parts are cheap since its a honda again. a stock rsx base model has a 2.0 L 160hp engine while the a stock civic ex 02 - 04 comes with a 1.7 L 127 hp. plus the rsx handles better

Civic definitely! The RSX is the most expensive Front wheel drive car to insure out of all of them! It is also a performance oriented car so you would really want a manual if you went with that car. The Civic is a whole lot less expensive to insure, and it is a very reliable car so it should cost you minimal money in repairs. It also has a nice resale value. Overall the Civic will be your best choice!

if its between those two i'd go with RSX but also consider Nissan Maxima, Infinity I35 nissan engines are better than hondas, the maxima's VQ engine is a beast, my dad had a 1994 quest (same engine that was in 3rd gen maximas) thing ran up to 280 xxx miles and still running but we sold it and i got a 2003 maxima and i love it

Go for the Civic, lower on insurance, better on gas, maintanence. RSX is a nice car, and Acura is a luxury brand, but you need to use premium gas and the insurance will be higher for a sportier car...

To start you cannot go wrong with honda and the EX 4 door civic will be best because insurance is cheaper for 4 door since you are 17 and really .. it would be a crime to buy an RSX (auto) that is the best racing machine of it's kind
