The Acura RSX base model is slightly faster than the Celica GT, but since it is automatic and the Celica is manual, they will be pretty close, but the RSX will still be a little bit faster. It has 160hp and 141 lb0ft of torque which is 20 more hp and 16 more torque, and only weighs a coupe hundred pounds more.

I would really recommend looking at the Celica GTS which has 180hp and 130 lb-ft of torque and goes from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds.
I would compare the GTS to the RSX type S which has an extra 20 horsepower than the GTS and goes from 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, and is also very easy to modify.
I would also recommend a manual transmission if you really care about performance.
The "who" answerer is dead wrong. IT is a proven fact that with proffesional drivers that a manual car will be faster than an automatic car if all things are equal.
