I'm considering buying a 92 integra as a project car, and eventual everyday car, but I want to know if I can put a turbo on, and how to do it, as it effects whether I want to buy it.

View Full Version : How to put a turbo on the acura integra 1.6L engine? blackhawk007one 10-24-2007, 01:50 PM I'm considering buying a 92 integra as a project car, and eventual everyday car, but I want to know if I can put a turbo on, and how to do it, as it effects whether I want to buy it. cypres_83 10-24-2007, 01:53 PM If this is a project car then I would suggest getting rid of the 1.6 in favor of a b series engine, a b18a is 197hp stock and the bottum end is a lot stronger then the 1.6. I would still boost to a max of 6 psi. The turbo will raise the intake charge temp, but an intercooler or aftercooler will take care of that. You will need to control fuel, more air means more fuel. Exhaust manifolds will need to be made or bought. The stock cams and such will be fine for moderate boost. Search the internet. There are many companies that make turbo kits for hondas and acuras. It can be done custom for less money though. But tuning is a major problem. I have a friend that has a civic with a b18a swap and twin turbos. He is currently running slower then a stock civic because of tuning issues. Goodluck and have fun, but be safe. |
