Personally I think it was grossly irresponsible of your parents. An Acura is a luxury brand that most people work hard to afford. They just hand it to you on a plate as a first car? Nearly $40,000 worth of SUV. Keep in mind the average income for an American family is $46,000, per year. That's before tax and deductions.

Any sensible parent would buy a 16 year old a cheaper car worth no more than $20,000. Let the kid have their inevitable knocks and scrapes. Maybe after college, something better.

I really hope your parents didn't spoil you, because it will come back to haunt you later in life.

look, the way i see it, there is absolutely nothing wrong getting a brand new $30+ car at any age. there is a difference between an ability to afford and being spoiled. if you can afford a car like that, go for it. being spoiled is if you get something that you dont need; for example, getting two cars. but getting a Car is needed, its just the price thats all. i got myself a new loaded TSX as my first car.

you got what you got, and they can't change that, so by them being jealous, just makes them look stupid.

If your family can afford and thye are ready to get you one... i donno y you will be spoiled kid... but you should not be arrogant and careless... you should know how hard it is to buy a brand new car at this age.... it is okay as long as you can appreciate you parents for that and think you are blessed... what difference does it make if you buy a honda, acura or lexus... the difference it makes is the money and hte amount your parents can spend on a car for you... so ask them if they are good to get you an acura... if they are positive i think you should get htat: ;)
