My check engine light is on. It goes off and on by itself. It is the code P1145 I think. Its the air fuel metering. What does this mean?

There is no code corresponding to the P1145 on the Honda's; the codes that start P1xxx are manufacturer specific so it looks like this is an Acura code only.

the p114x codes for honda are for the air/fuel mixture sensor range of operations. the air/fuel sensor is the oxygen sensor, not the air flow meter.

the code is for a performance problem with the oxygen sensor. the performance problem is judged to exist when the secondary oxygen sensor on the catalyst signals a change in the post catalytic gasses that doesn't agree with the front (primary) oxygen sensor outputs.

basically, its almost always a problem with the front oxygen sensor that sets the P114x codes. but there could be an engine problem such as a leaking intake manifold gasket that could cause a lean mixture and reading at the front sensor that could set the code.

if you go to Autozone and have them pull the code they should have a code definition on their scanner. if it is for air/fuel mixture sensor then its a pretty good bet the front oxygen sensor is the problem
