engine tell me about the thermostat? i am an experienced diy mechanic and on every car i have changed the thermostat it is located on the top hose of the radiator on this car it looks like it's on the lower hose behind the throttle body if you have personal experience with this model please help it's an odd one

I haven't seen it, but I have a feeling thats where it is. Its probably in a housing and has an elbow shape to it. You might have to take the intake hose off the throttle body to get to it but it shouldn't be that hard.

On my 96, it was on the top hose. I replaced it when I replaced the radiator. Go to www.pdftown.com and search on "Acura RL". There is a tech manual there (a 40+ MB download) that has diagrams that should help.
