I use this car as my beater car...... if I am out and about with my dogs or going to Home Depot it is what I use.

My problem is that the alarm just goes off. Used to be it would just happen when it rains but now it just goes off here and there whenever. I would just be fine with just disabling the alarm as long as the engine starts and all of that. It is not worth anything so if someone stole it so be it.

I am good at many things but when it comes to vehicle things I am just shy of clueless.

Somewhere, you've got a short to ground. Probably, you have a wire that has lost insulation from rubbing against a metal part.
