so i was driving home from work today and some dude in his Acura RL sped past me. At the red light, I revved my engine and he responded. I drive a Toyota Celica GT.

I knew i couldn't outrun it but at the same time I knew he couldn't win by that much because his car doesn't have too much horse power than mine and his car weighs a lot more than mine. When the light turned green, I revved up to 4000rpm and dropped the clutch for a good launch.

By the time I got to second gear, his car had DUSTED me. I felt truly embarrassed. I'm pretty sure his car was stock and the only thing he changed was his exhaust to make his sound better.

I'm trying to add turbo or a supercharger depending on what's better for my car.

So my question is, are Acura RL's really that faster than Celica GT's? And what do i need to do to boost up my car to keep up with faster cars? Thanks all.
